Jerusalem police have said that two Palestinians have been shot and killed after allegedly attacking them.
Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said that the incidents took place on Sunday afternoon near the Old City of Jerusalem, when a Palestinian man and a young boy allegedly threw a knife at them, causing them to be shot.
The Palestinian youth was shot by a police officer, Rosenfeld added.
The man, who was wounded, was treated at the scene and is expected to recover.
The police were alerted about the shooting, Rosenfeind said.
The Old City was closed Sunday after the stabbing.
The incident was the third in two days, following the death of an 11-year-old boy and the wounding of two Israelis on Saturday.
Police said that they responded to a call of an injured person near the al-Shuja’ir neighborhood in Jerusalem’s Old City.
They said the man was shot in the chest and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The boy was wounded in the neck and taken by ambulance to a hospital for further treatment.
