A few hours after the launch of Minecraft 1, a handful of Minecraft players decided to set up a new server to test out the new update.
The mod was called “The Irish Times”, but there was no mention of the Irish Times in the description.
A post on the IrishTimes subreddit said the server was running “with Minecraft 1 beta 1.6.3” and that it was not supported by Minecraft servers in the UK or Europe.
But, a few hours later, someone using the name “josh” was found to have registered the server, and it has since been taken down.
There is no indication that Minecraft 1 has been taken offline, but a new update is available to download from the Minecraft website.
Minecraft 1.10.2 is now available for download on Mac and Windows.
Minecraft 1 is available on the Mac and Linux operating systems as well, with the latter version also available for the Raspberry Pi 3 and Pi 2.
There’s no word yet on when the new Minecraft server will be available for testing.
